2018 Kingdom Advancement Grants
Trinity Church announces with great joy 15 grants for a total of $204,800 to catalyze ministry initiatives around the world that advance His kingdom and strengthen His church.
Trinity attendees through designated giving and faithful weekend offerings make these annual grants possible.

$15,000 — Rebuilding Community Center Tijuana, Mexico
Submitted by Trinity attendees, Samantha & Daniel Trego, this grant covers the last 30% of the monies needed to rebuild last year’s burnt-down Community Center. A group of local women provide courageous leadership through their non-profit Ministerios del amor. Over the last two years, approximately 40 Trinity attendees have served alongside people in this community in their efforts to alleviate poverty through empowerment, education and spiritual development.

$2,500 — Hat Trick Soccer Ministry Bogota, Colombia
Submitted by Trinity’s Crosswalk’s summer missions partner in Bogota, Unicentro Christian Fellowship Church, this final grant provides funds for participant scholarships, registration for competitive championship matches, and transportation costs to replicate this program in Aracataca.
Engagement Opportunity: Crosswalk will be taking four to six students this summer to Bogota to teach English as a breakout session at the soccer camp.
$18,500 — Afterschool Roma Project Gyergyoszentmiklos, Romania
Submitted by Trinity’s Strategic Partner, Gyergyoszentmiklos Baptist Church, this grant continues Trinity’s partnership to address the 90% plus illiteracy rate among the Roma children. This grant provides monies to underwrite expenses for two of the four classes in the four-classroom school building Trinity helped build in 2015.
Engagement Opportunity: Trinity’s Romania Strategic Partnership invites educators and financial consultants to help design a sustainable development plan for the school.
$13,600 — Summer English Camps Transylvania, Romania
Submitted by Trinity’s Strategic Partner, Gyergyoszentmiklos Baptist Church, this grant substantially underwrites the expenses for 56 campers. These evangelistic camps lead to significant conversations and year-round relationships that strengthen the church’s witness in the area.
Engagement Opportunity: Young adults or those with camp/VBS experience from Trinity (and churches in the Greater Lansing area) and Rose Garden will find this a life-changing experience..
$5,700 — Missions Camp Transylvania, Romania
Submitted by Trinity’s Strategic Partner, Gyergyoszentmiklos Baptist Church, this grant provides 75% of the scholarships for 50 young adults. The organizers face additional costs this year as they relocate from the church’s backyard to a regular campsite! This missions event is co-hosted by Reghin Baptist Church; together these two churches are raising funds to bring in a Kenyan missionary as the key speaker!
Engagement Opportunity: An opportunity for 2-3 young adults to serve and observe at this missions initiative, June 25 – July 1. As is normative for any Trinity missions trip, scholarships are available.
$10,000 — Reaching Teens Tatarszentgyorgy, Hungary
Submitted by Trinity’s Missionaries in Budapest, Ildikó & Géza Kovacs, this grant provides launch funds to expand the ministry of the Youth Center and the recently planted Tatarszentgyorgy Church. Focusing on young teens in the village this initiative expands engagement opportunities to include a horticultural garden, English lessons, handicrafts, and music education.
Engagement Opportunity: A young adult or retired couple to live in the village for a year.
$4,000 — Gospel Advancement Ngunyumu, Kenya
Submitted by Trinity Missionary Associates Ruth and Julius Okello (TM Rural Community Development Organization), this grant provides launch funds to send pastors and evangelists to this adjacent desert region to replicate the successful church-based community engagement model developed in Tala and Matungulu.
Engagement Opportunity: Prayer!
$35,500 — Food Security Ngunyumu, Kenya
Submitted by Trinity Missionary Associates Ruth and Julius Okello (TM Rural Community Development Organization), this grant provides approximately 50% of the remaining funds needed to replicate the successful Hatchery System developed in Tala. Improved food security helps breaks the cycle of poverty. Targeting 50 families, this micro-finance and poultry project is ready to launch.
Engagement Opportunity: Videographers to document this unusually successful model of community development.
$6,800 — Leadership Training & Development Galway, Ireland
Submitted by Trinity’s Strategic Partner in Ireland, Discovery Church, this award provides supplemental funds to undergird the church’s 2018 focus to develop leaders in the church, especially young adults, through camps, conferences, and leadership seminars.
Engagement Opportunity: Leadership seminars for 2-3 days for the church’s core leaders.
$20,000 — Completing Church Building Renovation Galway, Ireland
Submitted by Trinity’s Strategic Partner in Ireland, Discovery Church, this award provides a matching grant for a fundraiser to complete the renovation of their building purchased in 2013.
Engagement Opportunity: Support Trinity’s Ireland Strategic Partnership in their fundraising efforts to raise the monies needed to complete all renovation by August 2018. Opportunity to be part of a summer construction crew exists.
$14,000 — Women Empowerment – Poultry Project Harare, Zimbabwe
Submitted by Christ Connect Family Church, Trinity’s Strategic Partner in Zimbabwe, this grant provides an opportunity for women developed through the church’s empowerment program to continue their journey toward self-sustainability by together launching a Poultry Project.
Engagement Opportunity: Experts to walk alongside this group of entrepreneurs, from business plan review to poultry farming consultancy.
$23,250 — Church Planting Initiative Harare, Zimbabwe
Submitted by Christ Connect Family Church, Trinity’s Strategic Partner in Zimbabwe, this grant underwrites the entire cost to plant and construct the first three of 20 churches of their vision to reach 20 villages by 2020.
Engagement Opportunity: Open invite to join them for either the evangelism phase or the construction phase.
$9,000 — Evangelistic Outreach Malawi
Submitted by Christ Connect Family Church, Trinity’s Strategic Partner in Zimbabwe, this grant underwrites the outreach efforts to start three of six envisioned churches in neighboring Malawi, by 2019.
Engagement Opportunity: Prayer!
$23,200 — Seed Farm Chinsali, Zambia
Submitted by Christ Connect Family Church, Lusaka, this award helps launch the third seed farm to accelerate the development of 400 hectares in Chinsali to undergird church planting efforts in Zambia.
Engagement Opportunity: Help assess and plan the progressive development of the 400 hectares.
$3,750 — Training Center Chinsali, Zambia
Submitted by Christ Connect Family Church, Lusaka, this award provides sewing & knitting machines as well as gas stoves, to the second cohort of 26 women being intentionally discipled and economically empowered.
Engagement Opportunity: Visit and encourage these women. Explore further ways to establish this Training Center.
