HUERTAS FAMILY UPDATE (APRIL 2022)

BELOVED FRIENDS AND PARTNERS IN MINISTRY,

This Bible verse has been very meaningful to us these days. We have just returned from a trip to the Emberá- Katío community in Juan José, Córdoba. God took good care of us. There were a lot of security problems in the zone with paramilitary groups, but when they heard about the purpose of our trip, they did not object to us being in the area.

We did the second level in “biblical narrative” and we also worked on aspects of worldview, specially concepts about God,
Man, the world, the origin of evil and the plan of salvation for humanity. In November we had 6 Emberá-Katío communities where evangelization was going to take place, now there are 9 Emberá-Katío communities where the Gospel of Jesus Christ is preached. “This is lovely fruit for God´s kingdom”.

Some indigenous leaders could not attend because they did not have the money to cover the expenses for the trip. We pray that this won´t be an obstacle in the future. We pray that God will provide abundantly and everyone will be able to attend to the next training course in October- -Third stage of planting autochthonous churches.

LANGHAM

The group of Pastors who began their training the previous year has continued this 2022 with a deep desire to continue growing. Luis Miguel´s students are in second and third year (114 students). And the group of more than 1.000 pastors
nationwide remains committed. We praise God for their perseverance. Some groups already meet in person and others remain virtual.

Some of them have shared about the contribution of “Langham schools” to their lives and churches:

  • A personal revival in their devotional life,
  • Others said: I have learned that “less is more
  • I have learned that I don´t need to preach for an hour to give a clear and Christ-centered message

FAMILY NEWS.

2022 has brought many family changes.

The first has to do with housing. For many years we have prayed for a house or apartment of our own to live in and no longer to pay rent, we consider this year is the opportune time. In order to save money, we made the decision to move from Cajicá to Bogotá, where Misincol offices are located. And all our belongings are being stored until we get our house/apartment. More details about prices are in a separate sheet for those that would like to participate with a special offering for this specific need.

Secondly, we want to share with you that our son Jonadab will be marrying his fiancée Natalia. The ceremony will be in Barcelona, Spain on September 24, 2022. We appreciate your prayers for Jonadab and Natalia and this step of commitment that they are taking.
