Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed. I cry out to God Most High, to God, who vindicates me. Psalm 57:1-2
Friends and partners in ministry, This Psalm is an expression of confidence in God the Almighty. David was running from Saul; his life was in great danger. Maybe some of us feel the same way these days, and can connect with David’s emotions, fears and feelings. David took the decision to cry out to God, and put his confidence in Him, because he knew the great power of God. We rejoice in that we know the same Almighty God, the Creator, and that is why we can all say as David did: “under the shadow of your wings, I will take refuge.”
